Refurbishment
- We are all very excited about the coming months where we will see a few changes throughout Alston Hall. Firstly, three of our standard rooms are being converted to en-suite rooms and work on this has just started. So far, so good! This will mean that out of our 31 rooms there will only be 2 that are standard.
- Our reception and main staircase are also getting a facelift. There will be new carpet put down in reception and fresh paint throughout. Even the team in the office are getting a makeover - the office, not the team!
- UPDATE - As of 30th April 2010 - Rooms are starting to take shape, colour scheme is decided and there will now be 2 larger rooms instead of 3 small rooms. Only 3 weeks now until they are complete!
- UPDATE NO. 2 - They're finished and they look great. Feel free to come and have a look round and if the bedrooms are free we'd be happy to show them to you. Also, redecoration has started on the Front Hall. We'll keep you informed as things progress.
Sport Relief
- Sarah Wilcock, Anne Sturzaker, Sheila Gridley, Anne Russell, Christine Walker, Ellen Dawson and Sandra Whiteside are all running a mile...for Sport Relief! On Friday 19th March at 12pm they will be "running" up and down Alston Lane for their Sport Relief mile to help raise money for the great cause. The team are not without injury though so there will be some walkers. To counter balance this there will also be some three legged racers and a sumo wrestler!
- UPDATE - We did it! We looked a little bit silly doing it but it was all for a great cause and we raised nearly £500. It's amazing what a sumo wrestler, a blues brother and 118 characters can achieve!
Alston Summer Fair
- This year will see us host a 2 day Fair here at Alston Hall and there will be a selection of stalls including food, crafts, gardening, children's entertainment and live music. This will take place on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th August and there are a few stalls left. If you would like more information, please contact Sarah Wilcock at sarah.wilcock@lancashire.gov.uk
