Alston Hall provides high quality residential and day courses plus an ideal setting for conferences and events. There is an inspiring, supportive and welcoming environment for adults of all ages from the north-west England and beyond.
Summer Fair
Sunday 19th June saw another fantastic Summer Fair at Alston Hall with stall holders including food, craft and garden. There were also demonstrations by a number of tutors in areas such as Encaustic Art, Marquetry, Lacemaking and Guitar. As well as this there was a Wedding Showcase with suppliers from around Lancashire and the helicopter on the front lawn certainly provided a talking point for the 500 visitors we welcomed. We are already looking forward to next years event so please make sure you are on our mailing list so you can find out more.
UFO breaks
This isn't Unidentified Flying Objects but instead it's Un-Finished Objects. We have had a number of weekends this year where students have booked to stay in the peaceful surroundings of Alston Hall in order to finish that piece of work that they just can't complete at home. Accommodation, food and workrooms are provided and it can be a relaxing as well as productive break away. Dates planned for 2011/2012 are:
Monday 25th-Thursday 28th July 2011
Monday 8th-Friday 12th August 2011
Friday 30th September-Sunday 2nd October 2011
Thursday 12th-Friday 13th January 2012
Friday 20th-Sunday 22nd January 2012
Choose from 1-4 night breaks (where applicable) and the longer you stay, the less you pay.
Weddings at Alston Hall
So far this year we have had three fantastic weddings at Alston Hall with lots more to come. Bookings for 2012 have been coming in as well as enquiries for 2013! Alston Hall is a Victorian country house overlooking the beautiful Ribble Valley, about 6 miles east of Preston. Although in an idyllic rural location, junction 31A of the M6 is only a few miles away. The College has a distinguished past but now has its eyes firmly set on the future. Alston Hall is owned and maintained by Lancashire County Council and is part of Lancashire Adult Learning.
The College provides a varied and extensive programme of non accredited adult education courses, with the emphasis on creativity, self development and enjoyment. The venue is equally suitable for corporate meetings, staff training and conferences, offering a good choice of meeting rooms, all with appropriate presentation equipment. The beautiful building and gardens with stunning views also makes Alston Hall an ideal place for weddings, celebrations and events.
