These three men shared a friendship and a concern for English places and buildings. From the 1930s to the 1970s they wrote, painted and campaigned and through these means helped to preserve much that was at risk. Paula Eames will introduce Betjeman’s Poems, while Roger Mitchell will use John Piper’s paintings and Osbert Lancaster’s drawings to illustrate their England.
