This course, which is suitable for all levels, will explore the plants and trees at Alston Hall during the morning and consider how the site fits into the beautiful landscape of the Ribble Valley. After lunch we will travel by minibus to Cuerden Valley Park, Bamber Bridge to compare the two locations. At Cuerden we will have a ‘wilderness experience’ along the sinuous valley of the River Lostock and walk through woodland and grassland and pause at a beautiful lake side setting. The afternoon will involve walking a maximum of 2 miles but will include walking up and down slopes.
