WHAT DO WE AIM TO DO?

Alston Hall’s mission is to provide a high quality residential and day learning venue in which organisations and individuals can pursue corporate and individual learning in a contemplative focussed and rewarding manner.

HOW DO WE MONITOR THE QUALITY OF OUR SEVICE?

We are proud of our reputation as a caring, customer-oriented organisation. We monitor this by:-

• Suggestion Box located in Reception
• User questionnaires
• Monitoring of informal comments and issues
• Complaints Procedure - IF something is not to your satisfaction, please let us know immediatly and we will do our best to rectify the situation. Our full complaints procedure is posted for your attention in the Reception in the College, copies can be obtained upon request.

WHAT WE CAN DO FOR YOU!

• Information and advice can be offered on the appropriateness of a course to your needs and progression opportunites. Please see the College noticeboard for contact details. Advice on courses in this brochure can be obtained by nominated College staff.
• Additional Needs - the College has a range of assistive technology available, please see the College noticboard for the full list. Wheelchair access is available for most training rooms. Please call us to discuss your particular additional needs before your course.
• Special Dietary requirements – we cater for vegetarian, vegan, low fat, medically recommended and religious restrictive diets, only. Prior notification is required.
• Equal Opportunities - Alston Hall College fully supports Lancashire County Council’s recognition of the diversity of the people and communities of Lancashire. A prayer room can be made available on request – please enquire at reception on your arrival.
• Your learner entitlements are noted on the reverse of our Booking Confirmation.

WHAT DO THE COURSE FEES INCLUDE?

Residential Courses

Tuition & full board. Please note that the fees shown by each course are based on standard accommodation. Supplements are payable for ensuite facilities.

Day Courses

Tuition, tea/coffee, 2-course lunch and full afternoon tea (except where stated otherwise).

Twilight Training Courses

Tuition, tea/coffee on arrival and a supper.

Taster Programmes

Tuition, 2-course lunch and refreshments.

Evening & Weekly courses

Tuition only.

Alston & Christmas Programmes

3-course dinner OR 2-course lunch with coffee OR afternoon tea & a lecture or recital.
Some programmes may offer different refreshments to those stated above but this will be shown in our brochure.

FEE POLICY

Fees already paid (covering the cost of tuition, administration, meals and accommodation where applicable) will be automatically refunded in full, or (if preferred) a transfer of fees to another course will be arranged, in the following cases:

• if a course is cancelled by LAL before the start of the course
• if a course has been permanently re-scheduled to a different time and/or place from what was advertised
• if the stated course aims have been changed significantly

In circumstances other than those listed above, no refunds will be given. This applies to refunds of deposits paid and refunds of the balance of fees paid. Transfer of fees is possible up to two full weeks prior to the beginning of the course.

We recommend that you take out insurance to cover these eventualities.
