I will be travelling by train, how far is the college from the local station?

The college is approximately 6 miles east of Preston. We collect and deliver students from/to both the rail and bus stations (at set times) for a nominal charge (£1 each way).

I'm keen to attend some of your courses. Given the distance I need to travel from London, is there an opportunity to extend my residentail stay, and if so for how long, without participating in another course?

There is usually opportunity for people to come early or leave later than the course dates. This can be on a bed & breakfast (B&B) basis or include an evening meal. We also have an arrangement with a local farm who offer B&B at very reasonable rates.

Do you have any triple rooms available, if not is there a supplement if we book a single room?

Alston Hall has two bedrooms which rooms which can accommodate three people sharing. As both have ensuite facilities they do attract a £4.00 supplement per person per night. Single ensuite bedrooms are available with a supplement of £9.00 per person per night. Single standard bedrooms with bathroom facilities close by are available without an added supplement.

Does Alston Hall have facilities for any outdoor activities?

Helen Alston Hall is set in it's own grounds with a walled garden and a large front lawn which are used by other groups for outdoor activities. However it would be useful if you could contact Dot Little, our Courses Manager, to outline your requirements in a little more detail. Her e-mail address is dot.little@ed.lancscc.gov.uk or telephone 01772 784661. Kind Regards
