The Ribble Valley is a beautiful location and we are very lucky to have such amazing views of it, helping to create a stunning backdrop for your special day.
This is a new element to Alston Hall and we have just been granted our approval for a civil ceremonies licence, however, our very experienced wedding coordinator and dedicated team will ensure your day is perfect. The information below is only a guide to what we offer but we are currently building on this to give further details and more options. Our four acres including a walled garden, woodland walk and croquet lawn give you some great photo opportunities, not to mention an ideal area for outdoor drinks receptions.
Two of our beautiful rooms are licensed for civil ceremonies and civil partnerships and there are many options to choose from. These range from using Alston Hall for your ceremony and photographs to taking exclusive use. We can accommodate up to 56 people for your ceremony and wedding breakfast and up to 100 for your evening reception.

The following prices are correct as of 1st September 2010 and should be used as guidance only. They are subject to change on a yearly basis so please enquire for up to date information. All prices shown include the current VAT rate of 17.5%.
Exclusive Use of Alston Hall
Exclusive use means you have the use of the public areas, the grounds and our 30 bedrooms to yourself, creating a house party atmosphere in a beautiful Victorian home.Included in the rate is:
Use of either of our licensed rooms for your ceremony
Pedestal and table arrangement of flowers
Cake stand and knife
Accommodation in our 30 bedrooms sleeping up to 50 guests
Full English buffet breakfast for up to 50 guests
Use of the public areas and grounds during your event
Table linen with a choice of colour
Wedding coordinator during your planning
Master of ceremonies for your day
The price for this package is £2900.
The other elements of your day to consider are the wedding breakfast, the drinks and the evening reception. Some example dishes (subject to change) and prices are shown below but please let us know if there was something in particular you wanted and we will discuss this with you.
The Wedding Breakfast
In order to achieve the best service and quality of food we ask that you choose one starter, one main course and one dessert that you feel would be suitable for all your guests. We will, of course, cater for special dietary requirements in addition to this.
Our Wedding Breakfasts consist of canapés during your drinks reception, a 3 course meal followed by tea or coffee and mints.
First courses:
Warm black pudding and bacon on a bed of mixed leaves
Traditional prawn cocktail served with brown bread and butter
Seasonal terrine or pate with traditional accompaniments
Selection of soups served with warm rolls and butter
Main courses:
All served with seasonal vegetables.
Steak balmoral with sauté potatoes
Salmon fillet served with a tomato and basil sauce and duchess potatoes
Breast of chicken with a smoked bacon and mushroom sauce and sauté potatoes
Roast beef, lamb, pork or turkey (please choose one) with traditional accompaniments
Vegetarian main courses:
Vegetable soufflé
Cashew nut and carrot timbale with a tomato and basil sauce
Vegetarian paella
Desserts:
Lemon meringue pie with fresh cream
Bread and butter pudding with vanilla ice cream
Raspberry meringue roulade
Sticky toffee pudding, butterscotch sauce and vanilla ice cream
Fresh fruit gateau with fresh cream
Chocolate tart with chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream
Cheese selection (Can also be served as an extra course at £5 per person)
Wedding breakfasts are charged at £26 per person. Children are welcome to have a smaller portion of the dishes you choose and this will be charged at £13 per child for three courses or £10 per child for two courses. For the same price we can also prepare children’s meals (for children under 12 years old) and you can choose them from the selection below.

The Drinks Packages
These packages include a glass of sparkling wine or Champagne during the reception, half a bottle of red or white wine per person during the meal and a second glass of sparkling wine or Champagne for the toast. We are currently talking to a number of wine suppliers in order to get the best wines for these packages. If you would prefer to choose your own wines from our list, please ask to see a copy.

The Evening Reception
We have created our buffet menus to give you choice and flexibility. There are no desserts included as many of our guests choose to serve their wedding cake in the evening, however, if you would like to add a dessert option please let us know.

Ceremonies at Alston Hall
It is not always necessary to take exclusive use of Alston Hall. If you would just like to hold your ceremony or wedding breakfast with us we would be happy to check availability for you. As there may be other activities taking place in Alston Hall at the time we may need to restrict the number of guests, however, this depends on the day and time of the ceremony so please contact us for further details.
The hire of either of our ceremony rooms would be £250 and this includes a pedestal and table flower arrangements and our wedding coordinator to help you plan your day.
For the ceremony room followed by the wedding breakfast, the hire charge would be £425 and this also includes the flowers and wedding coordinator as well as a cake stand and knife and table linen. The wedding breakfasts are charged separately.
Marquees at Alston Hall
There are several options throughout the grounds for marquees. Sizes, prices and packages are available on request.
Whatever you choose, our experienced wedding coordinator will be there to help you through each step and a member of our management team will be on hand during your day to take care of the Master of Ceremony duties and make sure everything is just as you want it.
